Whether through a sculpted curlew or a felted textile upland meadow piece, I am keen to draw attention to threatened species, and habitats.
For me, art and science have always been intrinsically linked with layers of rich detail waiting to be discovered in our wild places.
When delivering workshops, my focus is on de-mystifying the artistic process, helping others to find their own freedom of self-expression, whilst being inspired by our wild places. My hope is that this will encourage a more thoughtful and caring engagement with the natural world.

As a science graduate I spent my twenties gathering experiences, working in the arts, playwork and youth sectors, exploring monsoonal coastal forests inTanzania and backpacking around a couple of large continents. I finally ended up in the North Pennines, a landscape sculpted by rivers and glaciers, in an tiny old lime and stone cottage just big enough for the family, overlooking the Tees, surrounded by nature, both wild and farmed, weaving science and art together again.
